Application Information
for S.J.D. and LL.M. Programs
Application Deadline
The S.J.D. and LL.M. Programs adopt a rolling admission policy. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Applicants may start to apply to enter the programs at the beginning of either the fall or spring semester. Although there is no official application deadline, applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Step2: Documents Submission
Application Materials for S.J.D. Applicant
To apply to the S.J.D. program, applicants must complete the following application materials:
A. Application form (pdf word)
B. Official transcripts
C. Degree Certificate
D. Three letters of recommendation
E. Personal statement
F. A writing sample
G. A brief research proposal (3-5 pages)
H. TOEFL or IELTS score for non-native speakers of English who did not receive their legal education entirely in the English language
I. A copy of passport identification pages
Application Materials for LL.M. Applicant
To apply to the LL.M. program, applicants must complete the following application materials:
A. Application form (pdf word)
B. Official transcripts
C. Degree Certificate and/or certificate of enrollment
D. Two letters of recommendation
E. Personal statement(Personal Statement Guide)
F. TOEFL or IELTS score for non-native speakers of English who did not receive their legal education entirely in the English language
G. A copy of passport identification pages
Have each college, law school, and/or graduate school you have attended provide you with one official transcript of your academic record (or the nearest equivalent documents listing your courses and corresponding grades), and, if available, a statement of your rank in class and the size of the class, in a sealed envelope, signed across the seal. Do not send copies of certificates or diplomas. If original documents are not available, please supply certified copies of the original documents. If the registrar will not give you the official documents, please have them mailed directly to the International Programs Office of KoGuan Law School.
Please note that all documents must be in English or accompanied by a certified translation attached to the front of the document being translated.
Please submit your completed application as soon as possible, along with the application fee. It is your responsibility to make sure that all required materials reach the International Programs Office.
In addition, all applicants from non-English speaking countries who did not receive their legal education entirely in the English language must take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS examinations within two years prior to submitting their applications. The LL.M. Program requires a minimum score of 580 on the paper-based test or 240 on the computer-based test or 92 on the internet-based test, or 6.5 in IELTS.
