US-Asia Institute Szymanski Rule of Law Program

USAI’s 14th Annual Program in Washington D.C.

The US-Asia Institute-Szymanski Rule of Law Program in Washington D.C. is an award-winning one-month program designed to provide Chinese law students with unparalleled exposure to the American governmental and legal systems.

If you are chosen for the program, you will take part in exclusive conversations with influential actors in U.S. governmental, legal, and commercial sectors; network with legal professionals at top American firms and international businesses; and observe government and legal proceedings few are ever able to witness firsthand.

Finally, by participating, you will be joining a 100+ strong international community of elite American and Chinese law student alumni and friends of the American and Chinese Rule of Law programs.

 

 

 

TRAVEL AND FEES: We arrange and cover lodging, local travel, and some meals in the United States. Program participants stay in the Capitol Hill Hotel, in close walking distance from the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and House and Senate Office Buildings.

 

SCHEDULE: Fellows should arrive in Washington D.C. and check into their hotel by Sunday, June 27, 2021th and depart after the program ends on Friday, July 23rd, 2021.

 

ELIGIBILITY: Each cohort will be comprised of up to six Chinese law students from premier Chinese law schools. In order to participate in the program, you must:

l  Be a Chinese citizen

l  Be currently pursuing a law degree at a Chinese university

l  Have an interest in American law, government, and/or US-China relations

l  Have demonstrated fluency in English and a desire to use it in conversations with top U.S. leaders

 

APPLICATION: Apply by March 1, 2021 by sending your Résumé (CV) and a Statement of Interest (~300-500 words, max 1 page) to Nate Conrad at nate.conrad@usasiainstitute.org. Finalists will be contacted for a follow-up interview over WeChat/Skype.
