Course descriptions for three one-hour sessions:

1   We all know that intellectual property ("IP") has value and is important.  But do you know how it is actually used commercially to generate value?  What about as a weapon?  We will discuss what it means for a company to use IP, and to have IP used against it.  Assumes a basic understanding of intellectual property.

2   This session builds on the previous discussion of what IP means to a company, focusing on how IP is used in litigation.  We will discuss US litigation generally, focusing on an attorney's role.  Assumes attendance in the previous session, or strong knowledge of what an in-house counsel does.

3   Having discussed both sides of a typical commercial attorney, i.e. a lawyer who works for a company directly or through a law firm, this session previews what life is like after graduation.  We will focus on the "soft skills" needed for your success.  Assumes strong desire and reasonable likelihood of working for a global law firm or multinational company.
